This year, the Fruit Girls participated in San Francisco's Arbor Day celebration at Alemany Farms - which is an actual working organic farm within city limits! We had a great time, met all kinds of cool, exciting people and even helped plant a whole bunch of fruit trees.

Do you know of a community group that is looking for funding to plant fruit trees or community orchards?
Dryer's (yes, the ice cream) and the Fruit Tree Foundation have teamed up to host a contest where the winners get their orchards funded by Dryer. Pretty cool, eh?

Our friend and certified arborist Ellyn Shea has just released an iPhone application to help people new to pruning take care of their pruning needs.

It's called Arborville and it's available on the iTunes store for $2.99

So, I'm spending this rainy Friday doing some profiling of our users. I'm trying to figure out who you are and what makes you tick. So far, it's pretty slow going, but I do know that 13% of you have a fruit tree, and that 35-48% of you are Epicurians, meaning that you make jams, pies, jellies, juice, wine, liquor infusions or (this one was a particular surprise) home made beauty products. If anyone has any ideas about how I can taste more of your deliciousness, please contact me.
