This year, the Fruit Girls participated in San Francisco's Arbor Day celebration at Alemany Farms - which is an actual working organic farm within city limits! We had a great time, met all kinds of cool, exciting people and even helped plant a whole bunch of fruit trees.

So, I'm spending this rainy Friday doing some profiling of our users. I'm trying to figure out who you are and what makes you tick. So far, it's pretty slow going, but I do know that 13% of you have a fruit tree, and that 35-48% of you are Epicurians, meaning that you make jams, pies, jellies, juice, wine, liquor infusions or (this one was a particular surprise) home made beauty products. If anyone has any ideas about how I can taste more of your deliciousness, please contact me.
Orchard Care Workshop - This Saturday!
Please join Madison Fruit and Nuts this Saturday, March 13 for our Spring Orchard Care Workshop! This hands-on workshop will include fruit tree pruning and caring for young fruit trees. Please bring any stepladders, loppers, trimming saws and pruning shears you have. This workshop and volunteer activity will run from 9-11 am at the Mendota Mental Health Institute orchard.
