Neighborhood Fruit

Hello Fruity Folks!                                                         (View in Browser)

This is the time of year to ruminate and share what we are grateful for. Here at Neighborhood Fruit, we have so much to be grateful for! We totally appreciate all of your support which has made our launch year a smashing success. We are also grateful of all the people who have generously shared their backyard fruit. We are grateful of everyone who has been part of a fruit picking adventure, enabling us to donate food to the hungry. A million thank yous!

There is more: we are especially grateful for your excitement and enthusiasm when communicating with us. You often ask us: How can I get involved? We love being asked that, because we have an easy answer: Spread the word! Tell one relative, one friend, one neighbor, one coworker about Neighborhood Fruit!! Your input helped us design Neighborhood Fruit. Continue to be involved by letting us know what we can do better - please fill out our 2 minute survey now! We can't wait to hear from you!

November is also a time of service, when many people volunteer to serve food to the hungry. Throughout this year, Neighborhood Fruit has been donating fruit to the Free Farm Stand, which gives locally grown produce away to needy folks in our neighborhood. It has been invaluable to contribute in our community in this way, and we would like to encourage you to help out in your community.

Fruitfully Yours,
Kaytea and Oriana

  It's TurFruitin' Season

Fruit Label

Rumor has it New Orleans is responsible for the invention of this wonderful thing called a TurDuckEn - a turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a chicken. While the physics of that is rather complicated, we certainly know a good idea when we hear one. Presenting the TurFruitin'! It's like a TuDuckIEn, but made out of fruit! What a swell idea for a Thanksgiving feast!

Again, the Fruit Label helps users identify what fruit has been prepared for them; it also helps fruit growers communicate they are part of the Neighborhood Fruit community. The label is now available in one, two and four per page format to help you save ink and paper!

  Make an "Everyday Apron"

Yet another thing we are grateful for: a gift of 17 brand new vintage aprons from a fan of ours! We enjoyed playing with them so much that we decided to make patterns for you crafty seamsters. Fire up your sewing machines and make one for yourself or as a holiday gift for a loved one!

With names like the Feisty Grandma, The Mrs. Robinson, and Crustless Peanut Butter Sammy, it was really hard to choose which ones to transform into a pattern for you. In the end, we decided that both practical and decadent is the right approach. Introducing - The Everyday Apron for everyday, and the Running Away with the Circus Apron for fancy occasions. They're easy enough for a beginner seamster, yet versatile enough to be fun for everyone!

Please let us know if you fancy a particular apron from our collection. We would love to share another pattern with our community!
