Fruit Label
Home is Where the Fruit Is
|
Early photographs of Earth from space helped people to viscerally realize that we all inhabit the same planet, catalyzing the early green movement. This month's label does homage to the environmental activists of the 50's and 60's, as well as sci-fi movies of that era that fictionalized future environmental crises.
The Fruit Label helps users identify what fruit has been prepared
for them; it also helps fruit growers communicate they are part of the
Neighborhood Fruit community. The label prints at four per page to save you ink and paper!

Fruit Girls celebrated Earth Day by at Heron's Head Park, with Literacy for Environmental Justice, neighbors, community organizers, kids, bicyclists, activists, dogs, and even goats!
They were unveiling their new EcoCenter, San Francisco’s first 100% “off-the-grid” building, modeling solar power and alternative wastewater technologies. Nearly every feature of this 1,500-square-foot facility is innovative and model to educate the public about renewable energy, pollution and greenhouse gas reduction, wastewater treatment, renewable building materials, and the green economy.

Recipes and Techniques
When life gives you lemons, make Limoncello!
Limoncello is one of those wonderful things that is significantly better when it is homemade than store bought. This traditional Italian liquor is delicious when poured over ice cubes and sipped at the end of a long hot day, or sipped straight in the dead of winter, savoring the warm sun flavor.
