Mangosteens are medium sized evergreen trees. The leaves are large, shiny, dark-green-on-top-lighter-green-on-bottom, and pointed on both ends.
Usage:
Mangosteens are best eaten fresh: peel off the purple exoskeleton, and eat the delicious white fruit.
Factoids:
The mangosteen is known as the "Queen of the Fruits" because it's cooling properties can counteract the heating properties of the stinky durian, the "King of the Fruits".
