Herbs at Your Fingertips! Great Gift Idea!

This technique works well for most garden herbs that you want to have at your fingertips! It works best with woody herbs, such as rosemary, lavender, sage and thyme.

Cut and wash fistfulls of all the woody herbs in your garden. Take a roll of cotton or hemp twine, and wrap it around the longest springs (usually rosemary) four times, tie it off. Leave an inch of space and then repeat the process with your next longest fistfull of herbs (lavender?). Continue up the string until the shortest herbs are tied on. Make a loop to hang it up at the top of the string, and hang it up in the kitchen where there is good airflow. Once dry, use the herbs straight off the bundle, by pinching off what you want.
These make good gifts too! Use a slender ribbon instead of the twine to make decorative gifts for friends and family!
