Really! This is a way to grow square watermelons. It looks pretty cool, but also a little too futuristic for my taste. But still an interesting and fun idea to try....

I bet you've always wondered how do they get those pirate ships into bottles, or apples, well some kid figured it out - they grow them! Here's some easy step-by-step instructions on how to grow an fruit in a bottle.

According to "woofboy11" the author of this great Instructable on how to grow a pineapple, they will grow anywhere it doesn't have too much frost in the winter, or you can put them in a pot and take them inside when it gets frosty out.

The summer is heating up. In many parts of the US, drought conditions and water rationing are threatening our garden sanctuaries. But there is good news for the informed gardener: weekly, deep watering are better for you plants and your water bill! Infrequent watering encourages the plants to grow their roots deep to seek moister soils. Watering thoroughly allows water to penetrate deeper layers of the soil, where it won't be able to evaporate but will be available for your plants. Deep watering also cuts down on weeds, because they have shallow roots!
